Terms and Conditions
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of uk.cloudsecurityalliance.in, the website of the Cloud Security Alliance Uttarakhand Chapter (“the chapter”, “we”, “us”). By browsing the site, submitting a form, or subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the site.
Who we are
The chapter is a volunteer-run community chapter based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, affiliated with the Cloud Security Alliance. We are a separate body from the global organisation. This website is operated by the chapter, and these terms cover this website alone — not the global organisation’s sites, memberships, certifications, or research, each of which carries its own terms.
Use of the site
You may read, share, and link to anything published here. You must not:
- submit false, misleading, or impersonating information through any form on the site;
- attempt to access the admin panel, any private endpoint, or any account that is not yours;
- probe, scan, or test the security of the site, or interfere with its normal operation, without our prior written permission;
- use automated tools to flood our forms, harvest email addresses, or scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others;
- upload or transmit malware, or use the site to distribute unlawful, defamatory, or harassing material.
We rate limit our public form endpoints and log the IP address and browser of each submission so that abuse can be identified and blocked. We may withdraw access to the site from anyone who breaks these rules.
If you are a security researcher and you find a vulnerability in this site, we would genuinely rather hear from you than not: please report it privately through the contact form and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it before disclosing it publicly.
Membership applications
The forms on Become a Member and Contact are applications and enquiries, not registrations. Submitting one does not make you a member of the chapter, of the global Cloud Security Alliance, or of any programme we run, and it creates no obligation on us to accept the application or to reply within any particular time. Applications are reviewed by volunteers and may be declined without a reason being given.
Details of what membership involves are set out on Membership. Where the chapter charges nothing for membership, nothing on this site should be read as a paid service or a contract for one.
Events, training, and partnerships
Event pages, including past events, describe activities the chapter has run or plans to run. Dates, speakers, venues, agendas, and capacity are subject to change, and an event may be rescheduled or cancelled. Some events are run jointly with universities, sponsors, or other organisations, each of which may apply its own registration terms, code of conduct, and privacy notice to your participation.
Attendance is at your own risk. Where an event is photographed or recorded, that is normally made clear at the venue or at registration.
Content, and what it is not
Articles, event write-ups, and other material on this site are published for community education. They reflect the views of their authors at the time of writing and are general information — not professional security, legal, compliance, or financial advice, and not a substitute for an assessment of your own environment. Do not act on anything here as though it were tailored to your organisation, and do not treat any technique described in our content as authorisation to test a system you do not own.
We work to keep content accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, error-free, or up to date, and we may change or remove anything at any time.
Intellectual property
Except where stated otherwise, the text, layout, design, and original graphics on this site belong to the chapter or its contributors. You may quote and cite our material with attribution and a link. Republishing a full article, or using our content commercially, needs our permission first.
The Cloud Security Alliance name, the CSA logo, and related marks belong to the Cloud Security Alliance and are used here under the chapter’s affiliation. Nothing on this site grants you a licence to use them. Logos of universities, sponsors, media outlets, and partners appear as identification of the organisations involved and remain the property of their owners.
If you believe something on this site infringes your rights, tell us through the contact form and we will review it promptly.
Third-party links
We link to the global Cloud Security Alliance, partner institutions, press coverage, and social platforms. We do not control those destinations, we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data, and a link is not an endorsement.
Availability
The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. It is run by volunteers, and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend, withdraw, or change any part of it — including any page, form, or feature — without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the chapter, its office bearers, board members, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit, business, or goodwill, arising from your use of this site or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Privacy
How we handle the information you submit is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Dehradun, Uttarakhand have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.
